                        Supplement Funding Opportunity (PA-16-334)

Overview

Thursday, September 8, 2016
2:00 to 3:30 p.m. EST

Moderated by Anita McRae-Williams, M.A., the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Science of Behavior Change (SOBC) Common Fund Program will host a preapplication technical assistance webinar for a new SOBC Program funding opportunity announcement for administrative supplements to active NIH-funded clinical research. The earliest submission date to this program announcement, Science of Behavior Change: Use-inspired Basic Research to Optimize Behavior Change Interventions and Outcomes (Admin Supp) (PA-16-334), is October 10, 2016, and the receipt date is November 10, 2016.

Webinar speakers will provide an overview of the SOBC Research Network and describe how the supplement opportunity will contribute to a paradigm shift in the science of behavior change by encouraging the implementation of a mechanisms-focused, experimental medicine approach to behavior change research and the development of tools required for implementation beyond the SOBC Research Network. Congruent to the research mission of the SOBC Research Network, the focus of this initiative is on target validation, assay development, and target engagement activities within the SOBC-specified domains of self-regulation, stress reactivity and stress resilience, and interpersonal and social processes.

Visit the SOBC Common Fund website for more information about the program.
