Clinical Center Tours

The Clinical Center (CC) is the largest hospital in the world devoted to clinical research and performs more rare disease research than anywhere else. As an attendee of Rare Disease Day at NIH, you will have an opportunity to sign up to take a guided tour during the event’s mid-day break.

CC walking tours begin in the North Lobby of Building 10 and last approximately 45 minutes. Participants will learn about the facility, the CC mission, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and CC history, and an overview of:

  • Admissions/Voucher
  • Playroom
  • NIH School
  • Patient Unit
  • West Lab
  • Edmond J. Safra Family Lodge at NIH
  • Children's Inn at NIH
  • Patient Library
  • Chapel

Some CC highlights, facts, and patient unit stats will also be discussed.

The 45-minute tours will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis on a staggered schedule beginning at the lunch break; sign-up sheets will be available the morning of the event. There will be 5 tours available, with a maximum of 15 participants per tour.
