Call for Poster Abstracts
NCI invites submission of abstracts to be considered for poster presentations at the Childhood Cancer Data Initiative Symposium, July 29-31 in Washington, D.C.

Areas of interest for poster submission include research, methodologies, and tooling with focus in any of the following categories:

  1. Scientific and clinical research data needs in childhood and adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancers
  2. Establishing meaningful datasets for clinical care and associated research progress
  3. Building infrastructure to enable federation among disparate databases
  4. Extracting knowledge from data
  5. Developing adequate and equitable policies for shared data resources

Abstract Submission

Abstract may have a maximum length of 350 words (no tables or figures) and should provide the following content:

  • Description of relevant program, product, service or methodology
  • Applicability to childhood/AYA cancers and/or data sharing, management and federation
  • Potential for broader use in the research or participant communities
  • Evidence of success and critical lessons learned

The deadline for abstract submissions is June 30. Authors are encouraged to submit early; submissions received by June 15 will receive early-bird consideration. NCI will review abstracts as submitted and notify authors of acceptance on a rolling basis to allow presenters to make travel arrangements.

Accepted abstracts with author names and titles will be posted online. Abstracts will not be edited.

Accepted poster presentations will be presented Monday, July 29, 2019 from 8:00 – 9:30 p.m. at the symposium in downtown Washington, D.C. Presenters must be available to attend the symposium in person at that time.

Posters can measure up to 6 feet wide by 4 feet high.
